"Check fuel cap" light?
Ok I need your brains again guys. I've had my "check fuel cap" light come on twice in the past week. I can turn the car off and turn it back on and no more light. What would be making this come on? I've read about evap sensors and purge valves. Where are these and how hard are they to replace? Is this something that I can do or should I have a mechanic do this for me?

Check your fuel cap...ahahhahaha
No seriously, the cap seal (rubber o-ring) could be dry rottted and not making a true seal.

Everybody has jokes! I'll check to make sure my rubber didn't break when I get home!

Re: "Check fuel cap" light?
My other car does the same thing, sometimes it shows up, sometimes not. Usually when this happens it can be just a pinhole leak, only effecting the emissions deal. The car will still run fine (my engine light comes on also when this happens, emissions crap). The sensors may be fine, it could very well be the gas cap.

Re: "Check fuel cap" light?
i had that problem on mine it was funny how i found the problem i put gas in one night and noticed that it was leaking under the car so i went nuts trying to figure out if i over filled it or what was going on turns out the bracket that holds the fuel fill tube actually wore a hole in the filler tube and it was causing the light to come on and to leak when i filled it.
Re: "Check fuel cap" light?
yeah sorry, i made some changes to it and thought i made the changes to the one that was already resized, but appearantly it was the original LOL
