Tail light tint....

Anyone know where to pick up some vinyl overlay for all three taillights and the side reflectors? I don't want them painted and the plastic covers aren't for me either.... Wanted to try them out, but can't find anywhere that sells all three lights plus reflectors.... Thanks guys.

Take it to a paint shop and have them paint them. It's 100x better and it lasts longer than tint.

what do they paint them with? is it a black tinted clear coat?

black tinted clear coat sucks ass... been there, done that, couldn't see the lights at all! i've heard there is a paint called "SunShades" i beleive... i've heard it doesn't block the light at all....

Not VHT or any precanned tint, That stuffs crap. It's regular black car paint with clear mixed in. That's why I said take it to a painter. (It's old school stuff)

go to holt and see brandon at sunteks, he can put vinyl over your lights and reflectors and tell him your with wildhorses and he will cut you a deal

i had old school regular black car paint mixed with clear on my headlights and taillights and never again.... you couldn't see the running lights at all, could only see my break lights at night, and the headlights were useless... never again

Whoever did your lights didn't know what they were doing. Also any smart painter knows to not ever paint headlights on a street car. If your tails were too dark then the painter didn't know how to do it right. You can see my tail lights perfectly during the day and night. My tails have been done for over a year now and their still perfect.

they do make lights that are already tinted ( the lens thatis). that is what i have on my car. for the tail lights that is and it's from the factory.

what he means is you can buy tail lights that the plastic is acutally "smoked" there is no paint or anything on them... they are from "the factory" just not the ford factory LOL

Got it - I just want 'em smoked - not blacked out by any means. I'll keep you guys posted on what I find.

I thought he was still talking about tail lights, sry. American Muscle is where I got mine for my 96.

my car was a lease vehicle before i got it. i'm the "secound" owner. when you lease you are not allowed to make any mods to the car. and so ya that would mean the tail lights are from the factory. and yes you can also get them after market. they are just hard to find, i've only seen them once.

You've never seen them. THEY NEVER MADE FACTORY TAIL LIGHTS THAT WERE SMOKED! It's that simple.

who told you that you can't modify a lease vehicle? I've modified every car I have ever leased. Like Mike said Mustangs did not come with tinted taillights........... :*bonk(:

Some of the aftermarket stuff looks OEM (sometimes better), I'm sure a dealer couldn't or wouldn't be able to catch that mod with a quality aftermarket piece (I'm sure they don't check that stuff anyway).

Yea the compony I plow for leases all of its trucks and I think a plow would be a big mod on a leased truck

every person that i've known to ever lease a vehicle were not allowed to make mods to them. now if a company leases for the purpose of plowing, ect. then that is a different story.

there is a possibilty that the lights were broken during the lease and the selling company put aftermarkets on it also...
