MAch 1 track times
alright all i took the mach to the track tonight and the best I could muster was a 14.003 at 102.85MPH with a 2.38 60 foot....I'm blowing the doors off the stock tires launching at 2k rpm....I know with that MPH and improved reaction time the car should be a 13.5 car...what do you think?
I mean sure a set of nitto 555dr's would help with the 60 foot time but I'm still thinking that I should be able to muster a 13.5-13.7 in stock form.

Re: MAch 1 track times
ok i assume your mach is 03-04? the best 1/4 time i have ever seen is 13.2. with the average about 13.5-13.7... Your 2.336 60 foot is killing you...from what i am told every tenth over a 2.00 sixty foot is equal to about 1 tenth on your 1/4. You ran a 2.3 sixty so say that is equal to about .03 maybe a lil more off your quarter time. This isnt exact science but with your 14.0 take off the 3 tenths you would have gain with a 2.0 sixty you would aroun 13.7 pretty close. Definitly get some tires bro

i agree tires would help but i was hoping to hit a 13.7 in stock form...i think the MPH is there, its just getting her out of the dam hole

Re: MAch 1 track times
what kind of track prep do u do? like do u lower the tire pressure, take things out that dont need to be there...how bad are ur tires now?

Re: MAch 1 track times
well the cars got 25k miles on it and it still has the original tires from goodyear on there...so i mean id say they are alright but definitely have some age on them. i didn't lower the pressure or anything and they don't do track prep for our street legal nights...

Re: MAch 1 track times
Brandon...Here's my suggestions.
1) Get rid of the stock rubbers, they suck at the track. Nitto 555R's are what you need. They should be at 18-20 lbs at launch.
2) Get a line lock, so you can heat the DR's to proper stickiness (meaning burn them bishes till you see some smoke; not too much though)
3) You may need some proper traction devices: IE traction bars, upper/lower control arms, etc.
Doing all of the above netted a few Mach's in Cali low 13's.

Re: MAch 1 track times
ya my plan is to get a set of 4.10's in the rear and a set of rims with nitto tires in the rear. what do you think about the gears...i know alot of people run 4.10's and I have 4.10's in my mystic, but I know some are running 4.30's and a slight couple 4.56's(which imo are to steep).

its hard to say what my plans are....Ideally Id like to put a procharger on it in the future if I keep her around but then again things are always changing..Personally i think 4.10s are the way to go along with a good tire. This car should still be a 13.7 car stock

I think 4.10's will be a tall stretch for a street procharged Mach. I would stay with 3.73's. They are way more streetable and gas pump freindly.
Now if your plans are track only...4.10 away my friend.
Re: MAch 1 track times
well they come from the factory with 3.55's so 3.73's wouldnt even be worth the swap. I'm thinking I will go 4.10's. Even if I procharger it, boost levels dont start climbing until 4k plus rpm. Hopefully a set of nitto drag radials will help take care of that.
