That was close!
I was cruising home from the get together and eating at Ryan's Saturday night. Heading North back to KY in the middle lane of Wilma Rudulf towards I-24 and a Suburban to my left and ahead of me came to a stop. I couldn't see around him/her but they must have waved an oncoming Buick to turn in front of them just as I was passing them doing the posted 45mph. I hit the brakes hard and locked up all 4 wheels (no ABS in 67!) and slid 20-30 feet. Fortunately the Buick stopped just short of being in my lane cuz we would have collided otherwise. I am real surprised my wife wasn't screaming! After it was all over my wife (who watches too much NASCAR) said "I think we flat spotted all four tires!" Man that was too close for comfort, 20 years of hard work and a labor of love was just about totalled in an instant. I'm also glad no one was tail gating me!

I've seen more than one accident happen that way, you would think people would know better.

yeah, it wasn't even an intersection. They must have been trying to pull into a gas station there.

I see this stuff happen all the time. People should know better then stopping in the middle of the road. I complain to my wife about this every time it happens.

Yeah, and what's worse, it was a large vehicle that stopped... you CAN'T see over those things! Maybe under 'em sometimes, but not a stocker! People need to learn that if traffic is too heavy to turn left, go to an intersection with the turning arrow and turn the **** around! :*soap*:

Yea there was an accident like that once here in Hoptown, a Tractor trailer rig was puling across the blvd, and someone motioned a van to turn, and just then a Camaro came around the rig, and smacked hard into the side of the van flipping the van and totalling the Camaro. People just arent smart nowadays.

If it had been a single lane, that would have been another story but it's 3 lanes each way. They can't and obviously didn't see the other cars coming in the other lanes!
