Sxynerd''s Beast of Burden. My build up...
My cars already gone through a couple major top end overhauls but I thought I'd start a build thread to show the parts, catalog it's current state and keep everything up to date. I was supposed to have it tuned on the this week but my tuner has more issues in his life than Time Life.
96 DFG GT Convertible
3 owners
Bought with 68k miles in 2005
First set of wheels
New Black Top and new GF who is now my wife
Second Set
After the First PI Heart transplant
New wheels, Paint, HO Fibertrends RR 3.5" Hood, Mach1 Chin Spoiler, ROUSH Wing, and crappy AudoBadges 281 emblems, rear MUSTANG & Dumps which is always temporary. (I keep taking them off then putting them back on so you'll see in the progress pictures, lol.)
More New wheels And New Paint, Black Stripe on the Cowl, Painted Tail Lights, Smoked Headlights, Real Emblems that don't chip after two hand car washes
Vortech 10lbs 3.12 pulley, Air to Air, Painted the intake Blue (Some liked it some hated it)
436rw with a stock long block and even stock manifolds (Proof that you don't need EM to gain any power and it's not worth it until you do long tubes and you're out of other mods.)
Another new Alarm (The previous owner had to have been a retard. I ended up replacing 80% of the wiring under the dash and through the car.)
New Rails, again
Long Tube Clearance
My Bro's car with mine.

Re: Sxynerd's Beast of Burden. My build up...
This week I guess. Every time I think i'm done something comes up...I still haven't figured out timing the cams yet and I still have a lot of wiring to finish. I've been trying to have this thing together for a while now.
Re: Sxynerd's Beast of Burden. My build up...
Stupid retarded Update.... My professional Products fuel rail kit (That supposedly came with everything) didn't come with the Inlet and return line fittings that go to the spring clips. So I had to Order them overnight. I'm getting it tuned on the 16th and I need to put 500 miles on it QUICK! I'll be driving to someones house down there next week, lol then up to Macinaw (sp).
Re: Sxynerd's Beast of Burden. My build up...
Sounds like a plan Mike. I need to get a few more miles on mine too, it's not quite broke in yet! (177,000 and counting)

It's getting time for a 4v! Or a 3v conversion!
Re: Sxynerd's Beast of Burden. My build up...
Yeah, but this 2v is still kickin'. No matter what happens this stage of the game, it has been a great motor-SOLID!

Re: Sxynerd's Beast of Burden. My build up...
There not in the picture but I also mounted my coil packs under the Intake Manifold in the valley and made my own Intake adapter plate to use the stock style Plenum.
Re: Sxynerd's Beast of Burden. My build up...
Won't the coils get to hot under the intake? Very sexy

Maybe a little but COPs are mounted in direct contact with no issues. On the front of the engine they are mounted to metal and these are now mounted to ABS with air available to flow all the way around the coils. What I think would make it perfect is if I can find plug wires that I can custom size. Remember I have a HUGE hood so I get lots of air flow, lol.
Re: Sxynerd's Beast of Burden. My build up...

low 11's I don't really want 10's but I know I'm going to be sent home quick from any track I go to. It's just a really fast street car. :*burnout*: :*car1*:
Re: Sxynerd's Beast of Burden. My build up...
then put the stuff in that you need to stay at the track and have some more fun...lol.

Cage, Battery Cut off switch and I think a helmet is what I need. I don't know when I need the rest of the things.
For now I'll stick to the less strict tracks.

Re: Sxynerd's Beast of Burden. My build up...
Haha, thanks. If I wasn't so sore and tired I'd go tackle the rest of it.
Re: Sxynerd's Beast of Burden. My build up...
If you're going to rewire your engine harness, smack that B!tch with force.
Another of the car.

Re: Sxynerd's Beast of Burden. My build up...
If you don't know what a 2v engine looks like in stock form...Behold it's ugliness.
