Questions about ECM on Cobra's? Empty Questions about ECM on Cobra's?

Post by steves04cobra Mon Feb 02, 2009 10:56 pm

This is for all 03 04 Cobra onwers really. Im having a problem. I was driving down the highway so i stepped on the throtle and the car started to sputter. My rpms shot up to 6000 but the supercharger wasn't whinding. At first i thought the belt was slipping but my boost guage was reading presure. So when i got home i plugged my tunner to it and did a dignastic and it gave my a code. So i called JBA perfomance where i had all my work done and the said that it was a rare code and that it has something to do with my ECM. So i checked all the plugs and connections nothing is lose or unplugged. Have any of you guys delt with this in the past and if you have what did you have to do to fix it. Any advice would be greatly thanks

I've heard of a place in Bowling Green, but don't remember the name. I'll see what I can find out. You've always got Delk in Lebanon, but they won't touch my stuff (but that is just me).

Here is a little more information: http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/2nd-generation-22/559563-code-p0602-what.html

Is your check engine light on too?

Got this off modular fords,

P0602 is PCM power interrupt. it will come up because you put an aftermarket toon in your car. To remedy this try to clear those codes and restart the car. let it run for a bit, about up to operating temp, then shut it down and check your codes again. your tuner should have cleared that code as part of the tuning process, but some miss it. once you've done this snd you check your codes, you may get a new one, P0190-FPRS (fuel rail pressure sensor) bad, that sensor is located on the drivers side attached to the front of the fuel rail. A new sensor is about $20.

As for trusted Cobra shops, I would take it either to Dynospeed in Memphis or Modular Depot up by Cincinatti. Like Joey said, Delk has a very bad reputation with working on cars. about 90% of the cars being repaired at Dynospeed right now are to fix what Delk screwed up.

Hope that helps some,
TJ

delk blew up the pastor's husband' s 1995 forged cobra. he told them to tune for 550rwhp and quit, and when he returned his motor was in pieces.

they even ruined the heads when piston parts/valves mashed into them. afr185's arent free.

Hey guys thanks alot. The check engine light is not on. Thanks for the warning about the shops out here. I called Delk and preformance garage and they said it sounded like i blew the clutch. Krutch21 i'll give that a try and see if it works.

No prob man,
If your clutch is blown you have either a bunch of play like it isn't hooked up or the peal would feel very spongy. And getting the car in gear would be extremely difficult if not impossible while running.
I annihilated my clutch to where i couldn't even get it in a gear with it running, and i could make the SC kick in neutral still, so i'm gonna say your clutch is fine if the above isn't the case.

You're not going to get a power interupt code for a bad clutch. I wasted my stock clutch at the track pushing over 720hp and never got a code. Try going back to the stock tune and then reload the custom tune again.

I tried that a couple times and it keeps coming up. I'm tired of dealing with it so i called dynospeed and im taking the car down there on friday. They're going to replace the clutch with a spec stage 3. And then check out the rest of the car for me. But thanks for the tip.

So did that take care of the problem or did they tune it as well?

Breaking in the clutch is as easy as 5000k clutch drop and a half block burn out, :*burnout*:
