Street racing...Ends badly.

Very sad about the loss of life but as long as we have a means to move we will race. It's been going on since the beginning of time with foot races, horse races, dog races and car races. We've just gotten the means to be more efficient at killing ourselves and taking others with us when we go.

THE EXACT REASON I VERY RARELY PLAY ON THE STREETS!

Keep it to the track people. Everyone knows a Mustang is faster, but everyone forgets that there is always someone faster.

dang that mach1 was ripped in half when are people going to realize thats its just not worth it even though i have occasionally endulged in this practice i remember things like this and try not to!

Amazing how participating in street racing could easily lead to a double negligent homocide- plus the guilt that guy will live with for the rest of his life.

Sad, just plain sad.

That poor guy probably wishes he was the one that died because living with something like that for the rest of your life. Sad very Sad

Ya especially since his girlfriend got killed.

Apparently there is some misundertanding, the guy with girlfriend was killed also. The guy getting jail time is the one they were racing against.

You're right. Although I agree with a lot of the comments on the site that he more than likely won't get jail-time, especially if he gets a good attorney. Unless there is evidence that shows he hit them causing them to lose control and crash.

wow what a sobering story. I tend to want to win and sometimes I dont think about the outcome of what I am doing. I could never live with myself if I cause someone to get hurt mush less get killed. I guess whenever I raced I just thought about winning not what the bad outcome could be. thanks for reminding me to think before I act.

PROBLY NOT, BUT HOPFULLY IT WILL CAUSE US TO BE MUCH WISER ABOUT OUR ACTIONS. I FOR ONE HAVE HAD A FEW VERY CLOSE CALLS MYSELF. ONES THAT COULD HAVE ENDED JUST LIKE THAT.
