EGR Tube Problems
Ok, I bought a new Typhoon Intake and Pypes Shorty Headers for my 95 GTS. The EGR tube is not long enough due to the high-rise intake. It is about n inch or so too short. How can I make this work? I've checked with the Intake and Header tech support guys and got "it should be a direct bolt-on, blah,blah,blah...". Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: EGR Tube Problems
My suggestion is delete the EGR. That's if TN is not an inspection and pollution controlled state, like Cali.
Plus you get more ponies out of it too. :*drive*:

I can delete it but will get a check engine light. How do I get around that?

Have you had the codes cleared yet?? Any of the parts store can throw a scanner on and clear the codes..95GTS wrote:

Re: EGR Tube Problems
A tune may be needed to get the car to run right without an EGR. Most aftermarket tuners will be able to hook you up with a tune for it.

I cleared them and they came back on. I decided to extend the tubing based on other tech support forums that identified similar problems on the 1994/1995 model 5.0 EFI engines with performance enhancements added. Apparently these are the bast&$d years of the SN95 Mustang which is why it is hard to find parts. Also learned that Ford stopped making valve covers for these two years as well. Luckily, Trick Flow still makes some nice aluminum ones that are direct replacements and several others make chrome metal ones as well. I'm learning more as I go. Thanks for all the feedback, it really helped alot. Hope to be back up and running early next week just in time for the Lebanon Road Trip...
