Sorry but Drifting is not racing to me. Ya it is cool to watch but I can't consider it racing. NASCAR, NHRA, Indy, etc is racing. But that's just my opinion.

its skill over racing, car control and a well setup car. 2 good tandem drivers and its an excellent show yes!!! a drift can be faster than turning a corner thats why its a nono in auto-x and things of that nature

Like I said first off it is just my opinion. Secoundly you cant claim you have control when you just lost traction (wither it was intintional or not). Third of all, if drifting through a turn was generally the fastest, or best way, then you would see most other forms of racing doing just that. And finally you can't really compare things such as driver skills, or the set up of the car to other forms of racing. Each is unique to their own events.

I agree 100% on all car events are unique. but yes the sport of "drifting" is a controlled slide of your vehicle.

When you are sliding you are not really in control. Your control that you speak of is just an illusion. When you are sliding in a car, you have no traction, you have then lost control. I have seen some drift events and seen drivers not regain control of their car. If it was a controlled slide then that would not be the case.
