Normally for mod motors they say:
2v: 3.73 - 4.10
4v: 4.10 - 4.30
That is just what I have heard. I had a buddy running a 100 shot on a 00gt with 4.10s. It just all depends on what you are going to be doing the most with the car. Drag racing alot 4.10s, daily driving - cruising I would say 3.73. Just my .02

3.73's will do you fine man I wouldnt go that steep to 4.10's wouldnt be that much more than 3.73's tho

if plan on some FI do 3:73's. If your like me and plan on staying N/A i'd say 4:10's I dont have mine in so i can't say personally, unless you cruise at like 85mph on the interstate i say 4:10's

Here's the 411 on gears. I got the same feedback from many experienced racers.
N/A Manual Tranny & N/A and power adder Automatic tranny:
4.10 - 4.50
(4.50 being the most agressive of course and strictly for the track)
Power Adder Manual Tranny only:
3.55 - 3.73
(I've heard of some even going as low as 3.27 in sick turbo setups because of their MPH goals)
It all depends on what direction you're taking with car...

I'm not planning on any Forced Induction. I'm planning on staying N/A. I've just heard some really good feedback about 4:10's and had a lot of people say that it would really wake the car up and make it A LOT more fun to drive.
For someone that doesn't know much about gears....I've been readin about them and I know that the higher gears reduce top speed but increase performance at lower speeds.
Could anyone please elaborate on what the gears are going to do performance wise? Am I gonna be able to beat cars that I wouldn't beat before the gears? Is it technically gonna make the car faster?

if you wanna make the car quicker then just drop in some 4.10's youll be happy with them

4.10s will get you out of the hole alot quicker but decreases your top speed. Its not really that much though. The higher the gear the less the top speed. 4.10s won't really affect your car on top speed though but I mean how often are you really gonna go 150. My car has seen 150 since the 4.10 swap.

Another thing to think about is...how much highway driving do you do?
A higher gear aka 4.10+ will make your highway cruise RPM's much higher thus decreasing your gas mileage.

I really couldn't care less about my top speed. Like you said...when are you gonna need to go 150.
Are the 4:10s gonna make a big enough difference to make me beat cars that I wouldn't beat before the swap?

4.10s will make your it a COMPLETELY different car to you. It will take some getting used to. I remember when I was driving mine home from putting them in I about did a 360 when I got on it a little going around a turn, where before I would have just taken off. You'll be able to do alot better burnouts.

I've been hearing from a lot of people that 4:10s will make my car up a lot and make it a lot more fun to drive! I'm sure they'll take some gettin used to but I'm willing go through that process.
I know what you mean about the 360 thing.....My buddy has a Cobra with 4:30 gears in it and he gets that thing goin sideways every time he gets on it.
