Hello Wild Horses
I've been a regular on other Mustang forums for about a year and have only just discovered Wild Horses thanks to SteviGX who told me this was one great forum. Although I have lived all over the country, I am currently back home in Shelbyville, Indiana.
I'm 58 years young. Retired military, accountant, and part-time college professor. My kids finally got out of college so I now have so time and money for myself. I first started driving muscle cars back in 1968 when I was 18, out of high school, and working my first full-time job. It was a 1966 Dodge Coronet 500 with a 426 wedge, dual line Holley 850 carburator, headers, and a dual point Mallory ignition. Since it was two years old I got it for $1900. It would flat scream and I tore the clutch out of it the first day I had it. In 1973, after killing the Dodge by hitting two black Angus cows at 2:00 am, I bought a 1969 Camaro SS350. Cars attract women, and this car attracted an absolutely beautiful Californian (when I was living out there) to whom I've been married for 33 years. Both cars had 4-speed transmissions and both were quick, but the Dodge would have flat smoked the Camaro.
I currently drive and Electric Green 2000 Mustang GT Coupe. From all outward apparences it is stock. But... it also has a Procharger running 8 lbs boost, a 75 mm BBK TB/Plenum, 42 lb FRPP injectors, 255 lph SVT Focus fuel pump, Diablosport MAFia, Meizere electric waterpump, BBK LT headers and catted mid-pipe, flowmaster exhaust, Hurst Billet/Plus shifter, and Edlebrock subframe connectors. I thought the previous owner had installed gears once, but I was wrong. He just put the speedometer needle on wrong when he installed the white face gages. It is a daily driver so I asked for a conservative tune with a little more mid-range torque. It's running 370 rwhp/377 rwtq with torque reaching max at 4800 rpm but not really dropping off till around 5600. It too would have flat smoked the Camaro. It fact, I'm pretty sure this Mustang would have taken the Dodge as well. It is probably the quickest and fastest car I've ever owned. (Of course, if there are any law enforcement officers out there, this is purely speculative.)
I have enjoyed being a member of the other forums, but I have alway been looking for a forum with local content so that I don't have to discover the best tuner, etc. on my own. I would like to thank SteviGX for recommending this forum and I look forward to meeting all of you in person.
