Off road H-pipe... fumes???
Question to all who've installed an offroad pipe... I installed an offroad H-pipe & duals on my wife V-6, Now when parked at an idle the fumes are almost unbearable, with the windows up or down. There's no leaks and the out-let is at the bumper. Not sure if it's because of no cats???
Just wondering if any others have this problem before I bother installing one on my GT???

It's not a problem if that's what you mean. You may need to consider a tune to advance the timing a bit & maybe lean it up a bit to take advantage of the O/R pipe. Do you have a wideband or something to measure your a/f?
Re: Off road H-pipe... fumes???
yeah Glenn Dan and I are both running rich as hell with the O/R pipe... It's normal with running a stock tune

Re: Off road H-pipe... fumes???
The V6's must really be under tuned or over emissioned because neither of our GT's was as bad as yours sounds. GT's pick up "maybe" 10-15rw with the O/R H's; what do the V6's usually pick up from an H pipe & tune adjustment?
Re: Off road H-pipe... fumes???
I have a tuner for my GT so maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Not realy wanting to go all that far with the v6 the origanal exhaust had some leaks so I thought an upgrade would be good since I was changing it anyway, I put on a mac H-pipe,. Never realy liked the way it turned out. And thinking now about switching back to cats. if I can find a useable stock system.

Are you sure you don't have a leak further up. like on where the Manifold meets the down pipe or even the Exhaust manifold to the block gasket?
