new motor build Empty new motor build

i was pretty satisfied with the turbo motor, but im pulling it out for a much larger power build and rpm. im building it for 9000 rpm N/A and 1k specs minmum. billet i-beam manley rods, cobra crank, CP 2000 hp 3V pistons, cam/springs. the motor will handle 1500hp. putting a 70mm/102mm turbo on it after i play with it all-motor. that intake im fabbing will go on it. and im making another intake as soon as i finish this one. that intake will be an all out 9k performer.

the goal is 1000 crank hp. ill have to twin-compound it for more.

in the meantime i bought a 2007 4.6 3vwith 5000miles. im going to use a smaller turbo on it till the other motor is ready. the 4.6 3v will only run 8-10 psi. all stock motor. 450-475 rwhp should be the range it runs.

the hotside will be vastly improved over the one i am currently using.

im going to fabricate it as an "X" pipe. 2.5 inch into the "X" and 2" after up to the turbo.

power goal for the 3v is between 450rwhp and 480 rwhp. 10 psi probably. this turbo is really efficient at that flow level.
the turbo is a:

62mm inducer/88 mm exducer .5 a/r compressor
72.5 mm turbine 1.0 a/r

its a gt 3788, water cooled, journal bearing CHRA.

considering 450rwhp is just average for a superchared 05+, this should easily make that. if it dyno's over 480 ill reduce the boost.

the great thing is, the car is already tuned for the turbo. everything is in place already. all i have to do is fab up the hotside, mount the turbo and put it in.

here are the pics of the 4.6 3v in the garage. it is about 1/2-3/4" too high to fit under the hood. ill figure out a hood to buy that's discrete. and paint it this time.

you can see the turbo im gonna use for this motor in the background.

this is just my 'temporary' motor till the big one is done. 450-480rwhp is not really that much. it will do for now.
