I hate headers! Ask David how long it took us to do his shorties on his V6 :*bonk(:
Re: Never install headers on a mod motor
So, how about installing headers when the engine is already out for some other reason?

Re: Never install headers on a mod motor
Cant put both headers on and drop engine in the car. Wont clear, tried it. If you have a tubular k member it makes alot easier but still sucks, especially on a cobra. Even with tubular k, will not drop in with headers in place. Now shorties are the exception. But shorties are a dyno proven waste of money and time for 1-3hp. Always go at least midlength or longtubes or stay stock.

Re: Never install headers on a mod motor
undoo the motor mounts, support the motor then drop the k-member about a foot. life will be much easier after that. also you can get a socket to fit the bolts with a swivel built into the socket from sears. i highly recommend this as well.

Yeah did the headers on mine like that. Got under it put an engine brace across the the towers and dropped the K member. Did it in a couple hours just taking my time.
