2009 Shelby GT "R Model"

What's got 550 hp and will carry the Carroll Shelby seal of approval? The new 2009 Shelby GT "R Model" Jerry Titus edition Mustang. It was announced that the two companies, Shelby Autos and Ford Racing, will build 37 of these track ready Mustangs to commemorate the 1965 SCCA championship of Jerry Titus. Titus drove one of the 37 small block 'R Model' race-only versions of the Shelby GT350 Mustang in 1965.
The new cars will feature a 4.6L V-8 engine under the hood along with a Ford Racing/Whipple Twin Screw intercooled supercharger installed by Shelby Autos. The cars will ride on a race-ready chassis and will be painted white with silver stripes. In all, the Shelby GT R is very similar to the 2007-2008 Shelby GT Mustang which disappeared from Ford's lineup in 2009. That sounds like a shelby/ford racing version of the Roush's trak pak, More I assume with the power the car has they're using the Eaton TVS supercharger.
it sounds lke a nice car, but then again the Carrol Shelby tag makes it WAY more expensinve than it's worth.

twin screw...... the big difference. screw the trak and it will do the same. assuming the bottom end holds for a while.
