Same here!! I asked and Jody really wants to go to the night race and since he's the one that's been gone off to war, he gets to pick. Hopefully Germany will have some roads that will be close.

Re: 4th Annual Wildhorses Cruising the Dragon
Eddie & anyone else who has done this, can you enlighten us Dragon n00bs about this whole deal? What's the big deal with this run, I see that there are some serious elevation changes, but a speed limit of 30mph? :^scratch^:
What all is involved in the weekend? What hotel/motel are we staying at? Just give me some general info about what the whole deal is, please.
Asking so many questions because Jessi and I are trying to schedule our vacation around this, but she isn't 100% keen on the idea of driving around the mountains all day.. lmao

Re: 4th Annual Wildhorses Cruising the Dragon
the hotel is located in piegon forge, tn. on the main strip.. the dragon is a unique road 318 turns in an 11 mile stretch. there are times when you get to go faster than 30 so it gets exciting. That will happen on saturday, ( leave around 8:00am get back around 3:00pm) that night we usually hit the strip in pigeon forge and have fun. Ya'll should come, you don't have to run the dragon, but still come, the rooms are great just to be on a vacation.WNRacing wrote:Eddie & anyone else who has done this, can you enlighten us Dragon n00bs about this whole deal? Re: 4th Annual Wildhorses Cruising the Dragon
They have something even better in Germany, the Nurburgring (Nordschleife). Its 13 miles of twist and turns, elevation change of 1000 ft., it winds through the Eifel forest and since its a actual race track there's no speed limits. The Dragon has actually been compared to this track. Oh and the autobahn's for the most part have unrestricted speeds, I think you may have to tone it down while going through populated area's. I would love to get over there myself but doubt it ever happens.Pyrotech72 wrote:mustangrn wrote:wallbanger11_22 wrote:That is the same weekend as the Bristol race. I wont be able to go this time.

You would have to have a big set to run on the ring.. A LOT of people have died there over the years, scary place.... :*run*:

Re: 4th Annual Wildhorses Cruising the Dragon
IDK, its one of those "bucketlist" deals for me. I don't necessarily have a "big set " but I'm not necessarily afraid to make a lap or several at the ring either, I wouldn't be pushing a car to the edge there although I would get a little spirited in spots but there's the way I drive it on gran turismo 4 and then a far more conservative way in real life. I would really like to make a lap with Sabine in a ringtaxi, that would rule :%worthy%: M5 Bimmer with 500+ hp under foot and a pro race driver behind the wheel. That would be scary though, those things fly passed sport bikes going around there, huge pucker factor riding shotgun in one of those. I'm gonna try to make it up to the Dragon for this cruise on the 22nd, I won't be with the club in gatlinburg, wife and I probably are gonna stay somewhere around Knoxville, we're going to a race at Tazewell Tn the night before if I can get a day of overtime at work between now and then for the gas+motel money that is but hopefully can make it
