Post by Guest Sun Jan 11, 2009 12:59 pm

Ok I went to town and country a few days ago. they had the 500KR on the show room floor.
they asked me if I wanted to trade my track pack in for it. At first I said hell "NO" but then I got to thinking
and I really do like the kitt car so now I am thinking?
I am wondering witch one is faster?
and I got to thinking witch on is going to be more valueable later on down the road.
HMMMM So tell me what you all think.

NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Technically the KR is a little faster. Here's a few argue points

1. you don't need a faster mustang, and the one you have has a better suspention and better control.

2. You have one of the most rare mustang current Gen mustangs on the planet. # 100 out of 100!

3. the KR isn't WAY overrated and over priced. I could take a GT 500 and about 3 grand and make it bigger faster and look identicall to a KR and all would be missing is a plauge that says "KR"

this is just my opiniion of course. but i say keep the track pack.

I'd say KR. If you look to keep it, a Shelby will always be worth more. I'd like to see a head to head match up on a road coarse. But, everyone is right about the KR and it's hefty $ tag, it's just not worth it.

If you want more power, more power can be had for a price. My brother in law bought a 427R (non-trak pak) brand new, and with only 6000 miles on it, he had the engine rebuilt with forged everything and bigger cams, had a Shelby 6-speed installed, and will have a KB or Whipple on it later this year. The machine is expected to produce over 700 hp. It's already at 525 hp with the Eaton M-90 (Roushcharger.)

Keep the Roush! They are rare and the most wanted in the Roush world.

As for value, unfortunately the Shelby will be worth more 10+ years from now.

Did he have the engine bored out or work done on the heads at all?
