Mustang Sales for October down again!!

The numbers are in and it isn't pretty. In October of this year Ford sold 4,686 Mustangs. Last October they sold 9,156 units. That's a 48.8 percent decline in sales. For the year as a whole, Ford is in the hole by -29.8 percent. One look at the numbers and you'll see a decline. In 2007 Ford moved 118,959 Mustangs by November. This year Ford has moved only 83,557 of the company's pony cars. No doubt, things sure have changed over the years. In 1966 Ford moved 607,568 Mustangs. That's almost six times as many Mustangs as they sold last year.

What is this world coming to. At least Ford didn't loose 45% in October like GM. Hell, even the Japanese powerhouse Honda slipped 22%. Not good for the auto industry.

Talked to my local ford dealer today and he said last week of Oct was bumper did not make up for rest of month but has already sold more cars this month then in the first 3 weeks of Oct.

i wouldn't worry too much. the mustang will always be there. the mustang started the pony wars and is the only one to continue ever sense.....thats 1964 1/2. dodge dropped out years ago and then gm dropped out too. now that they are both back, sales for the mustang will drop some but not enough to kill it. the mustang is still the best all around bang-for your-buck pony car out there.
