Calling all Wildhorses
I have burn't up the clutch in my 06 GT(17500 miles) :*burnout*: . I would like input about replacing my clutch. I will still be driving it at the track and on the street. I will need a little bit of street drivablity but want more durability then the basic Organic clutch. My chapter has put in some ideas. I am a clutch rookie. I have not had to get a custom clutch since 1974. No better place to ask than the forums. Your input will be appreciated.

Ditto!
Centerforce dual frictrion cluthches are bar far the best I've seen, driven, and heard of. Next in line would be a Zoom or FRPP King Cobra (which I'm not sure they make for the 05+)

Yep! Got one in mine and love it!!!!!!!!! Just be certain that you follow the break-in directions!
Too bad you are not closer, we would do the swap for $150!

I decided on a custom built 6 button ceramic racing clutch. The company is called Clutch Dynamics in Lansing MI. They are custom designing the clutch plate for my needs, resurfaceing my flywheel and building a custom pressure plate for $225.00 Ford wants $285.00 just for the stock clutch plate.

Cool! Good price! The ceramic button clutch is going to be a on/off type clutch. Slipping it off the line is next to impossible. You will find yourself stalling the car a time or two till ya get use to it. :*drive*:

It will be like starting all over again, Randy. Did they say if your clutch was defective, I'd guess it was not since they want to charge you for it. I'm just surprised the stock clutch only lasted you less that 18,000 miles.Musiccitygt wrote:Cool! Good price! The ceramic button clutch is going to be a on/off type clutch.
