Past Event: Memorial Day 2008
OK, it's time to start talking about Memorial Day, but I've been speaking to the organizer for the Memorial Day parade and it sounds like "bigger and better" for '08 (three Generals, A-10 flyovers, 160 families who lost loved ones in Iraq, Rangers will do a drop from a chopper, and much more) They definitely want us to participate again and enjoyed us there in '07. We had 18 vehicles there to represent WildHorses and it would be great to top it! Also taking place after the Memorial Day parade will be a dedication to the "Lest They Be Forgotten" memorial on G.A.R. Park (Island Park) for Marine Lance Cpl. Troy Nealey and all others who made the ultimate sacrifice. Many are expected to attend (including state representatives and others). I still want to get as many Mustangs in the parade as possible, let's honor our soldiers and their families

i'm a definate. as for the cookout i'm pretty sure the island will be too busy that day but the old atletic field and kids "playground of dreams" is only about 2 blocks from there. i would say that would be the best place for a cookout...

What size engine are you looking for. 4.6, 302, or unlimited. Blank check or budget. 300 hp or 600 hp. Give me some details.

Re: Past Event: Memorial Day 2008
Here's some of the details:
The parade will start at 11:00am. We will have to line up at 9:30am on Marlin st. (the street next to Family Fare grocery store). We will be near the back of the parade with the other vehicles and firetrucks. By the time the parade is over, it will be around 12:30 - 1:00. We will loop around town after the parade route to give time for the rest of the parade to finish and park back downtown on Main St near where the "wall of names" will be. At 2:00pm there will be a dedication of the Lest They Be Forgotten Memorial that we will attend, then afterwards we will go to the park and cookout!
For the cookout, it will be "bring a dish to pass". We will need (tentative):
1. Hot dogs (Zack)
2. Hamburgers
3. Buns for the two items above (Jessica)
4. Potato salad
5. Macaroni salad
6. Chips (Zack)
7. Soda (Shady)
8. Paper plates, Plastic ware (Jesse/Zack)
9. Napkins (Shady)
10. Ketchup and mustard (Shady)
I will take names and attach them the above items. If anyone wants to bring anything else, let me know and I'll add it to the list.
