My husband's freak out at the glass shop

Post by GreyGhost on Fri Aug 07, 2009 9:30 pm

My husband and I took our mustang in to replace the windshield last week. He had a stone chip that he didn’t take care of right away and it turned into a big crack. While sitting in the waiting area we could hear the guy working on getting the old glass out. We heard something like a sawzall and OMG did my husband, Jeff, panic. What the heck do they need to use a sawzall for?! Well, he jumped up and was trying to look thru the small window to see what was going on, and all he could see was some guy leaning over the dash with some big electric tool. He’s thinking they are cutting the roof off of the car or something. The owner of the shop walked by and reassured him and told him everything would be ok. He said they have specialty tools especially for cutting the lower seal. I’m glad he was able to explain everything they were doing so my husband could relax. Everything came out fine and my husband is very happy now. If you are going to have your windshield replaced, you may want to prepare yourself to hear some noises that may freak you out. Let this be a lesson to you all, if you get a stone chip in your windshield, get it fixed right away before it turns into a big crack. Also, you may want to take a sedative so you can relax and not stress out when you hear all the tools the shop uses to remove your glass! Shocked
