2010 Shelby GT-500 Super Snake Preview

It was only a matter of time, you knew this was coming. In April I spent some time with Shelby's Gary Patterson a couple of days after they had taken delivery of their first new 2010 Ford Shelby GT-500 in Kona Blue, to begin work on what would become the next Super Snake. I asked him what they had in store and he of course gave me a smile and a wink, saying nothing other than "it wont be long".

This very car made its debut in Tulsa, OK this week at the Mid-America Ford Meet. The event has always been a strong Shelby cultured event, and the debut of the new 2010 Shelby GT-500 Super Snake package as well as five other new packages will surely be the center piece of stories to come. So lets cut to the quick. The few initial sneak peek photos tell most of the story and the specs listed below tell the rest.

This package is specifically for 2010 Shelby GT500s only and only 500 will be built, making this model one of the rarest of the breed. Now we need to get back up to Las Vegas and take one of these monsters for a drive. When that happens we will go more in depth.

Standard Items:

• Shelby CSM numbered plaque in the center of the dash and in the engine compartment.
• 40th Anniversary CSM numbered door sill plates.
• Light bar with third brake light (convertibles only).
• Shelby floor mats.
• Aesthetic engine kit with billet oil stick and fluid caps.
• Shelby gauge pod (Shelby signature boost, fuel and oil pressure guages).
• Aluminum Shelby map light, accent satin door lock knobs and center console cover with Tiffany embroidered Tiffany Cobra.
• Carbon fiber front fascia splitter, mirror covers and rocker panels. Aluminun hood grille inserts. Deck lid "Shelby" lettering kit, Front grille and side "40th Anniversary Badging." Sequential tail lights, Special satin silver striping, Front and rear brake duct kits and 40th Anniversary faux fuel cap cover. Performance:
• Borla exhaust system.
• Shelby Eibach coil over suspension and sway bar.
• 20" American Racing Razor wheels mounted to Shelby-Exclusive Pirelli Pzero 255/35Z/20 (front) and 275/35Z/R20 (rear) tires.

Optional Items:

• Shelby 6-piston front caliper brake system.
• Shelby 6-piston rear caliper brake system.
• Shelby Kicker Stereo upgrade sound system in standard and premium configurations.
• Two tone custom interior seat package.
• Custon car cover with stripes.
• Shelby billet white ball shifter.
• SuperSnake 605hp or 725hp (coupe only) upgrade.
• Shelby Performance cooling pack. Includes: Proprietary high flow radiator, dual pass intercooler with dual fans and 3 aluminum fluid reservior holding tanks.
