Too Hot to drive Empty Too Hot to drive

Post by PAINTERDUDE Thu Jul 21, 2011 8:55 am

Who decided at ford motor company that leather seats in a Mustang was a good idea???!!!

The fool I bought my car from took the a/c compressor off to increase the horsepower Rolling Eyes So my car is horrible to drive
right now [even at 100mph just feels like a blast furnace] I plan on being at charlotte tomorrow for the evening car show but you may have to scoop me out of the front seat with a bucket. YUK I'm melting, I'm melting!

Anybody else have the same problem?

Comfort or performance? Mid Michigan summer weather? What do you think? I would give up all perfomance just to be comfortable. santa

The bird and the Camaro don't have A/C, so they sit in the garage when its hot. The bikes don't have A/C either and I know what you mean. Hot air is just hot wind.

My work van doesn't have A/C. Yuck. Means I have to park it and make deliveries with the other van (jap). Yuck, but at least I am not melting.

The Thunderbird blasts nice cold air. Me likey.

He gave the compressor and lines back to me but I'm not sure they are all there and I'm really not sure how to hook them all back up. The next 96 I see with a/c I'm going to be all over looking at how it all goes back together. Not going to the dealer no matter how much I sweat, I work at one 86.00 per hour is not for me I'll figure it out at some point.

i know the feeling... my car has air but it makes me sick so i can't use it. 110 degree day, black leather seats, and charleston traffic=no fun (i live 7 miles from base and it takes me 45 minutes to a hour to get home from work because of the traffic here...)

When we bought our car... the A/C didn't work. So I took it down to my friends shop to have it " filled " and that wasn't what was wrong. I had to replace the A/C compressor pump and all the lines that goes to it. Altogether it costed me $300.00 just in parts and another 4100.00 to fill with Freon, Not including labor, but it was all worth it to me!! cheers

Turbo car doesnt have AC but only gets driven (when its working) is at night for local cruise in's and :cough: other fun! seats are cloth though..

Daily V6 with AC blastin but has the leather also so i feel your pain on a hot ass day to open the doors, sit, and immediatly melt to the seat Sad

even if that is a typo. 410 is still a rip off. You need to find better friends if they charge so much for a simple job scratch Id be very surprised if it should have cost $41 for the R134A
