2 Race Cars in 2 Days
Well after sitting in that funny car on Thursday and revving it up, I got to move Paul Menard's NASCAR at our store today. Once we got it outside, we tried to fire it up but the battery was dead. So the truck driver said push start it. To make a fun story suck, the dang thing would fire that way either (I think it was low on fuel). But at least I got to stear it around the lumber yard while having 3 guys pushing it, lol! I'll post some piccs tonight.

Re: 2 Race Cars in 2 Days
Just teasing you, you Norge you.
Not sure if I posted this before, but if you would like to see a NASCAR race where you can tell a 1970 Charger from a 1971 Charger, by its SHAPE, then take a look.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LueNWi3Gdj0
Give it a couple minutes for the very familiar voices to come in. Production quality back then is nothing like today, but the video quality is good, the commentary good, and the commercials are great.

Re: 2 Race Cars in 2 Days
Those were cars.......we'll never see racing in NASCAR look like that again. Evolution of a sport is usually a good thing, but in this case I think there has been a lot lost that we will NEVER come back. I miss those kind of tracks, too. Now that the attendance has slipped, maybe they will think about using some smaller tracks again. If you look in the bleachers during today's races, they cover entire sections of seating with giant billboard style tarping to hide the empty seats.

That's cause you can only watch so many left turns before you realize you've seen this show before...

10 Things from that vid you will NEVER see again.
1) Tobacco commercials on TV
2) 200 laps on a 1/2 mile for the top level NASCAR boys. (not as many left turns for you Shady!)
3) Schlitz Beer commercials
4) 15,000 in attendance considered a "big" crowd at a Cup race.
5) ABC's Wide World of Sports using the same announcers for most sports (the agony of defeat).
6) A single 30 second commercial break.
7) A live commercial for a lawnmower.
A leader lapping the ENTIRE field without the help of a yellow flag.
9) A 22.9 second 2-tire pit stop considered "fast".
10) Dynaglass tires made by Sears.
