Birthday Track Week Empty Birthday Track Week

Post by crazyassracing Fri Sep 17, 2010 7:54 am

October 8th will be my 39th birthday.
In celebration I will be (Lord willing) taking my Mustang to Gingerman Raceway on the 7th of October
and the drag strip on Saturday October 9th.
These are both low cost open track events. Anyone wishing to join me as a participant or spectator let me know.

Think you will be able to make it tobytoofast?
If anyone wants to go that has never been on a road course before, call Gingerman ASAP to schedule an instructor. You need either prior track experience or an instructor with you to participate in a Test & Tune.
The 7th might be interesting. Usually the Test & Tune before a weekend track event is populated with cars from the track event. So the Thursday before a BMW event is full of BMW's or Honda's the Thursday before a Honda Club weekend.
Well the weekend after the 7th is the Lemons event. We could be running with $500 P.O.S.'s Smile

Event update:
I'm still planning on going. Bringing the family along so they can see the old man in action.
Bramas you still in? Get that second car to commit? How about you Tobytoofast?

Just got some Hawk HP Plus brake pads in the mail. Trying to decide whether to put them on for Gingerman or run my old brakes one last time to squeeze a few more pennies out of them.

I'm not 100% sure of my schedule yet.
Most likely I will be going 96 to 6 to 196.
My goal is to be there at 5:00. Registration only takes 10 mins and there is no techinical inspection other than them looking for the sticker in your helmet. Gingerman test and Tunes are the most relaxed track event I have ever gone too.
I don't think any CAM members are going. My guess is there won't be a lot of people there, but not sure what to expect with the 24 hours of Lemons going on this weekend.

It was great running at the track with Tim and Ryan.
There are a couple of mods I need to go ahead with since I was pretty much getting clobbered in the acceleration, braking and cornering departments.
Other than that I was happy with the car.

it was a blast. I think I figured out my car cutting out problem. I believe my car is getting hot and the ECM is pulling timing. The 96's have a crappy cooling system so I need to address it
Did your wife get any pictures of me running by chance?
