FORD FAN SPOTLIGHT
Mustang Collector and MCA Judge Scott Miller of Indianapolis
Donates His Mach 1 to Church Charity Despite Being on Layoff
Our selection this week for the "Ford Fan Spotlight" is the following submission from Shannon Miller of Indianapolis, IN: "I would like to nominate my husband, Scott Miller, for your Ford Fan Spotlight. Scott is a die-hard Ford fan, and is a certified judge for the MCA in the 1970 Mustang and Boss Mustang class. Scott had five 1970 Mustangs when we were married in 2003 – a Boss 302, a 428 SCJ Ram Air Mach I, two other Mach I’s, and a convertible. The ragtop was his first car, which we still own today. We also own a 2004 F-150 FX4 and a 2008 Mustang GT Convertible. Over the years, other priorities necessitated selling most of his classic Mustangs, except for one of the Mach I's and the convertible.
"Last July, Scott was laid off like many other hard-working Americans. But at the same time, our church began a charity fundraiser to support the missions. Even though Scott has been restoring his yellow 1970 Mach 1 for the past 8 years and it is nearly complete, he decided to donate the finished car to the church to help out. They are selling raffle tickets for the '70 Mach 1, and the winner will be announced at a car show in September that Scott organizes to help raise money for the local food pantry." – We think the generosity of Scott Miller deserves our recognition. If you know of someone who does, too, then send info and a photo (or a link to a YouTube video) to: AskTFR@Ford.com. You can read about other Ford fanatics we've featured, or just keep checking Fast News each week to see who we'll pick to bask in the glow of Ford Racing's "Ford Fan Spotlight!"
