turbo for 4.6 3v ready....

this is the turbo im using for the 4.6 3v. its a gt3788va. its out of a low mileage duramax. the gt3788va and the gt3782va share the same internals and exhaust wheels. i purchased a parts gt3782va from a powerjoke and used the exhaust housing with some minor machine work.

the vnt defaults to .90 a/r when no signal reaches the solenoid. i clocked it a little so the a/r is a bit less. maybe .88 - .85 hard to say exactly.

its a water cooled chra, so its more suitable for gasoline than other diesel turbos. its a high pressure ratio turbo. the exhaust wheel on all gt37va's are the same.

the specs are:
compressor: 62mm inducer/88mm exducer .58 a/r
tuebine : 72.5mm 78 trim .90a/r

flows about 58 lb/min at 10psi just about 570hp at 10 psi. the 450-480 rwhp in the 4.6 3v will not push this turbo very hard. its a good match on efficiency. and being water cooled helps it to live with gasoline.
