Tubular K-Members
Need some help guys,
Ive got a 2000 3.8l and need to know if any of you have installed a K-member on your GT/Cobra. The issue is that I cannot get my single turbo downpipe/exhaust pipe to the back of the car. I need to buy a tubular k-member and fit a 3-3.5" pipe through or around it. If any of you have a turbo setup with a k-member please let me know what k-member you went with and how much room do you have to throw a pipe through. thanks!

Re: Tubular K-Members
I have the Granatelli Kmember and it is a great setup. It looks to be designed similar to the Maximum Motorsports K-member except it's only $600. The welds are very nice and I would have paid more for it, if I had to.
TeamZ is another brand I like.
Are you going with real coil overs or sleeve over stock struts? If you have the money buy REAL coil overs. Sleeve styles squeak a lot. I'm spraying lube at least once a week.

Re: Tubular K-Members
so there seems to be plenty of room for the pipe to go back... is there room to go through it or does the pipe need to go around the side?? (do you have any pics of the installation?)

Re: Tubular K-Members
The steering shaft goes through there so you wont be able to do that. Maybe over the mount bracket.
Re: Tubular K-Members
you did buy a tubular a arm kit with the sleeve coilovers and do not like it? what were some other options you were looking at? I was going to go with a kit from Qa1 or UPR which i believe they are sleeve as well correct?

Yes I bought the sleeve over style. 13" and 14" A-Arms were another option you get with some A-arms. If you're going to be running a 9" wide front wheel get the longer of the two.
I think QA1's are a complete unit that replace the entire strut. They are among the best but you pay for it...several hundreds dollars more in fact. All of the true Coil overs are going to be a couple hundo. I'll be buying the Qa1's this summer

Re: Tubular K-Members
the turbo 3" pipe returns throught the opening above the a-arm. tubular a-arms add space. the granitelli has bracing in the way. cut it out. i use the granitelli also.
