Need some advice on where to get tires mounted in Mid-Michigan Empty Need some advice on where to get tires mounted in Mid-Michigan

Post by wingedone Wed Oct 07, 2009 8:05 pm

Hey guys,

I am going to transferring some tires from one set of wheels to another. I need a place to take them to, to get them transferred and balanced.

BUT, I don't want to deal with anyplace that will get pissy because I didn't buy the tires from them.

So, can you recommend a place to take them in Mid-Michigan (I live in Charlotte).

Thanks much!!!

Unless you can get a discount I'd stay away from a chain store. For some reason they think it cost $18 a tire to mount and balance. What I have noticed is the smaller mom and pop shops charge about $10.
If they where 16 or smaller I could do it for free for you but then you would spend that much driving it to me Very Happy

yeah.... if price is an issue then im not sure if can do it that cheap. i can do a little bit of a discount, but not much. but we do have a newer machine that does a great job for low pro wheels.

Price was not as much an issue as attitude. Some places don't like mounting tires, they don't sell.

Give me a total will ya, 4 tires removed from 4 wheels, then mounted and balanced on 17x8 wheels.

Thanks!

i think we could do it for maybe around 15 dollars a tire. but dont quote me exactly on the price. but mounting those tires are not a big deal. you can call my shop and ask them about the cost. its 517-321-0225, and just tell them you were talking to me about mounting the tires

Thanks guys, I will check, once I figure out whether or not I can put the rims and tires I just bought on the Cobra. If I can (with the help of Shady on getting the lug nuts I need), then I will sell the wheels I bought from Brad. If I cannot get them on, then I will do the transfer of tires.

Thanks again.

You will have first dibs (course now you won't want them). They are realy light though. Great for racing I would think.

Well, let me figure out which wheels I will be getting rid of. If I can get lug nuts to fit my car the "KMC Hot Wheels Redline" wheels will be going on the Cobra. They are 17x7.5 carrying Blizzaks.

If I cannot get those wheels to fit (or the right lugs), then I will be transferring the Blizzaks to the 17x8 2001 SVT Cobra rims and will sell the KMC. Either way, the wheels are not real pretty, but the Cobra's have the advantage of being very light.

If I hadn't already bought a set I would be all over them.
If I remember right they are 99 Cobra rims

Thanks for the correction. I was going to ask Brad, as I had forgotten.

Hey wingedone, if attitude is more important than money when it comes to mounting your tires, for $200 I will pick up your wheels & tires from your house and within 2 hours have them back and mounted.
I promise I will be smiling the whole time.
Very Happy
