Need some Cobra IRS parts Empty Need some Cobra IRS parts

Post by BraMas Sat Feb 07, 2009 8:08 pm

So if anyone knows of some Cobra IRS parts laying around let me know. I'm looking for an IRS cat back, Rear Springs and shocks, Rear brake brackets. I have everything else for the swap.
I'm even open to all 4 lowering sprigs for a Cobra w/IRS. If anyone know of some parts let me know. Yes I have leads on parts on Craigslist and eBay just sometimes people have parts laying around and they would like to get ride of them.

I have a SLP Loudmouth 1 cat-back for a IRS ($200). It needs to be cleaned up but other than that it's fine. I may have a Magnaflow cat-back available soon, thinking about changing. $350 for the Magnaflow, it's been on the car about 6 months.

Yea the LM1s sounded ok with just a catted x-pipe but when I added headers it just got ridiculous and annoying as hell. Was a pain in the ass on long trips. I should have the Magnaflows off in a week or two.

I can never tell if you're serious or not..... No MUSTANG guy in their right mind would ever put trash like that on their car.

I could have those looking like brand new chrome pipes in a few hours. But I still wouldn't put that POS exhaust on my car.

Just throwing it out there in case you dont know but you may already. For an IRS swap you will also need the end of the driveshaft that goes into the differential from an IRS setup. Cause the GT shafts do not work with the IRS diff. Like I said just trying to help in case you didnt know. Hope the swap works for you man. Im working on time to get mine done too.

Ya I figured that out as I was going to bolt the drive shaft up. I have had the swap done since March ( I even made it to your March Madness in TN)
It's amazing on all the IRS swap threads I have read on a few Mustang Boards and not one of them ever mention that fact. :^drunk^:

Oh well sorry it came late. Luckily the guy I bought my IRS from knew and told me. So I just bought a cobra driveshaft instead of an aftermarket aluminum one since its aluminum too. But at least you got it in thats cool. Have you run the strip with it? If so are you having any issues with wheel hop? Most people im talking to say that they dont, that the wheels either hook or spin with good tires.

I have been to the track and the only time I had wheel hop issues was when I ran at that track you guys had March Madness at. When I ran at my home track I had very little hop and I ran my quickest time with the car. But I upgraded all the bushings to Derlin bushings while it was out
