Re: Want to lower my stang.
Go w/ some progressive rate lowering springs. Don't heat or cut them.

Re: Want to lower my stang.
^^ What they said. Heating/cutting is the cheapest way to go but you'll end up screwing with the springs designed integrity and you'll be buying new shocks very soon. And you'll be bounceing for about 15-20 feet after you hit even a small bump. or Airbags, depending on who does them they can be very expensive and you'll still bounce a lot and have a rough ride. that and you gotta decide with those if you want to be able to adjust your ride hieght on the go.

Re: Want to lower my stang.
Well see when i had my imports we all ways heat the springs. i rolled around for 4 years on them and never had to replace the shocks before.
ya it was a bumping ride. but it was not to bad..
i would hate to buy alot of spring to find the right hight for what i want..

Re: Want to lower my stang.
Imports can be ugly only if your "that guy" that only does half the work, like say, gets the body kit and never paints it then goes cheap and gets the fiberglass front lip instead of the urethane one and when you hit a parking curb cuz your front end is now 1.375 inches off the ground it shatters and you have whats left of a primer-colored front fin that's shattered. But you leave it on there cuz you gotta have something to compliment the enormous Folgers can you have Tac welded to the back bumper that makes the same sound you make when you give your kid a raspberry on the stomach.

I'd just stroll around at a meet or car show and find a model similar to yours and see what springs they run. I've got the BBK progressives on mine which were an 1 1/2" up front & 1" in the rear I believe.

you know it is cheap to buy springs to lower it. i cut some before and the ride was washboard rough. i took them off and cut them with a wheel.

Re: Want to lower my stang.
You may want to check out H&R. I think they say 1.5-1.75 drop but it usually ends up being around 1.75-2, at least for the cobras. Plus you could also remove your isos to drop it even more.

They are rubber pieces on the top and bottom of the springs. They are suppose to reduce noise and vibration.
