Post by Guest Wed Jul 02, 2008 12:02 pm

Mine just broke. Car's stranded and i'm not a happy camper. Something got onto my key i guess and when i came out from my haircut it wouldn't go in so i gave it some oomph...and boosh there went the teeth. this sucks...and i leave for vaca tommorow.

Not good at all mang! If you lived closer, I would be down to install the new one while you were away.

it's all good man.

They are 70 bux for just the key and cylinder. I have to call my warranty company and see if they will cover this. I'm really really hoping they do.

i know it isn't. I just dind't feel like screwing with it earier. I went adn tried to do the wd 40 and whatever to fool it but it didn't work. Plus the key doesn't even go into the run position so i'll have to drill it out. o well.

yeah...it wasn't the best of ideas. It was getting caught about halfway in. i figured if i gave in some extra push it would help...obviously not.

Well i couldn't get it out. I tried all the tricks i could find on the internet and nothing. I took the trim off the steering column. I used an allen wrench to get down to the springy thing and then tried to use a screwdriver...i tried both my different keys...and now i'm just flustered and not so happy with my car. So i guess it's getting towed to ford and hopefully the warranty i have will cover it...otherwise im pretty much screwed... :?curses?:

i'm not happy right now....Maybe its a sign i need a cobra or a L haha
