Suds reopening!

Came across this on another site. Sounds like it will definitely be the place to go from now on.

"A group of car collectors has bought an iconic Greenwood drive-in called
The Suds and plans to reopen the landmark on Saturdays starting July 5. The
Suds Hot Rod Club, a dedicated group that continued to cruise the
restaurant after it closed in 2005, agreed to pay $175,000 for the property
at 350 Market Plaza southwest of Madison Avenue and Main Street. Individual
members of the club are buying shares in the restaurant. The drive-in
opened as Dog 'N Suds in 1957 and became simply The Suds in 1973. It has
closed and reopened at least three times over the years, the car group says
on its website. Leading Edge Commercial Real Estate of Greenwood brokered
the deal."

i hope someone can finally take care of that place and do it right

Nice! I'm really glad that it came through. I went to the realtors website about 1 1/2 ago to see what it was listed for, 210K. I was thinking if I had enough backing (ie $$$) I would open it up and run a BBQ and burger joint out of it.

I heard today that the opening is being pushed back to July 12th now.

Did anyone get a chance to check out Suds this weekend?

I went it was pretty busy

I think Suds will always be a hit! I bet there are alot of really happy people now that there open again!

can't wait to get out there i am glad to hear that it is packed again now if we could just have one nice weekend!

I may be in the area. Gonna be on vacation and not sure if we are staying in New Castle on Saturday night or continuing south to Bardstown, KY. I'll let you know!

I'll be there. I get off work at 8, picking up brittney then heading down. should be there at the latest 9:15

I was thinking we should get there early to lock in a few spots and throw some chairs out. What does everyone think about 5:30 - 6:00 PM.

i will be gone this weekend now i don't want to go camping....
