Gingerman, new track layout
Went to Gingerman last night where I was able to run the new course layout with the longer straight. It definitly adds some complexity to the course, and the higher speeds on the longer straight adds another level of stress to the vehicle.
On the old course I have no brake issues. The new layout heat soaked my brakes after only 4 laps if I went all out.

Re: Gingerman, new track layout
Sorry I couldn't make it out last night. Those are good tires I use the same ones for my track only tires

Re: Gingerman, new track layout
No problem. I'm sure we're going to head over there a couple more times this year.
Once in August and then again in October.
Only 7 cars total showed up last night.
The track was open to all cars for the entire three hours. Come and go as you please.
It's a great deal for $60.

Re: Gingerman, new track layout
Dang, I really need some good tires to do that. Looks like the new layout is brake hungry. Is that the permanent layout now?

Re: Gingerman, new track layout
I'm not sure how they are going to run the two track configurations.
On Thursday they asked us drivers what we wanted to do. We agreed to run the new course for the first half of the night and then switch the cones to run the old course for the second half.
Of the 7 cars there, 4 were trailered in and ran slicks. Along with me, there was a Lotus and a Corvette that drove in and were using performance summer tires.
My brakes were taking a beating because of the longer back straight. I was getting up to 105mph and then trying to deep brake to keep up with the V8s. Upgrading my pads will probably make a big difference, but I'm still running the stock rotors and calipers. No budget to upgrade those this year.
Dan, if you're looking for some cheap used track wheels and tires let me know. I know some guys who know some guys
