Fog lights Empty Fog lights

Post by Guest Tue Mar 09, 2010 11:02 pm

So does anyone know how or if it's even possible to rig my foglights to not cut off when I turn my high beams on?

Is that even legal? I know on my Subaru the fogs go off if you turn the highs on, too. But, I'm sure it shouldn't be TOO difficult. Probably just some wire cutting and splicing.

check with your local police first to make sure it is legal. the foglights are made to cut off when you turn on your high beams, the easiest way to do it with out haveing to dig into your wire harness to much is to put them on a toggle switch in the car that way you can turn them on and off when you like while the key is on, and they will not cut off when the high beams come on because they will be getting power from the switch and not the relay that runs the low beams which switchs power from low to high.(and turns the foglights off when in high beam) there maybe another way but i am not sure how if there is...

The easiest way is to jump the wire to the hotwire going to the convertible top switch. Even if you don't have a convertible, the car is still wired for it and the connector should be inside your center console where your foglight switch is. This has a constant 12v source and they will stay on no matter what setting you have your lights on. This also means that they will be on even without the headlights or parklights on if you don't remember to turn them off. They will not stay on with the car off though so don't worry about that. I don't remember the wire colors but I can take a look this weekend and let you know. It's a 10 minute fix and it looks great with the fogs and parklights, especially if you install an HID kit for your fogs.

I have this done to my car and your best bet is to simply create your own switch for it. It's fairly easy to do and its cheap.

Yeah, It's fairly easy, but for some of us (me myself and I) the $15.00 they are asking is worth it. It also comes with instructions! That is also worth not getting the headache from trying to do it yourself.

Let me know how this works out. I want to do something like that, but haven't yet. I am also going to email them to see if they make a daytime running light kit for my fog lights. I like having them on, but don't want to run my parking lights all the time.
