Wrecked the Stang

Post by mustangrn on Sat Nov 14, 2009 3:46 am

Yep you read that right!!! It was a sad Friday 13th. I hit a deer on my way to work tonight on Dotsonville Rd. It could have been alot worse, I'm ok, I'm at work and we have been way too busy so this is the first chance I've had to post up.

Yeah, with a large animal, it could have been worse. We're glad you're OK, and the car looks like only a few days in the body shop.

Geeze, that sucks so bad.. What horrible timing too.. No

Did it hurt the fender supports or is it just the hood that is bent?

I'm pretty sure it's just the fender but I can't really tell. I'm more worried about the tranny not shifting, the appraiser can't get here til Thursday. We'll see.

Thanks to everyone for all the good thoughts.

Looks like I'm driving a dodge caliber til the stang gets fixed. Not a bad car but not anything I would ever buy. Appraiser is supposed to come out tomorrow, wish me luck.

Transmission not shifting? That's wild. Well, the insurance should pay for everything... under comprehensive coverage since it's reasonable to assume the object you hit was moving. And your insurance premium better not go up...

I got the appraisal today and they are only giving me $3700 for repairs!!

There was no mention of replacing the broken grill, the tranny or the alignment. Guess I will be making some calls today.

Just keeps getting better.

The dealership couldn't find anything wrong with the car. That's as much as I want to get into that on the internet.

I got the car to Capley's and Steve is great. He is really working within the confines of the insurance and helping me get the stang to the car I want it to be. The only constraints now are the getting the parts ordered and delivered.

It's a process and there's alot more story but I don't want to post it on a public forum, so see me at the next meet and I'll fill in the gaps.

Thanks for all the good wishes.
