I just ordered some Sub Frame connectors and was wondering if there where any GOOD welders in the club. I have a Mig Welder in the garage but I do not consider myself a Good welder and with the connectors I want the assurance that they are welded in good. So if anyone out there can help I will pay for Gas/Welding for someone to come to my house and do these for me.

You probably already know this, but when I was checking into having SFC added to the Cobra, SVTPerformance guys were very adament that the person putting them on have experience, because it can go very wrong. Especially ensuring the vehicle is not propped up some way that throws off its geometry.

Just sayin.

My buddy Rob with the Pinto is a welder, good work from what I've seen. I was gonna bring him up when we do the strut tower.

I've been known to lay a pretty good bead, lol. I'm a bit to far a way to really help though. Good luck finding a good welder they're pretty few and far between.

I had a local stock car builder weld mine in the '92 convertible I used to have. He was quick, used a hoist, did a nice job and charged me $30. :*woohoo*: He ground up both surfaces to be welded, and sprayed the welds with Rust-o-leum when he was done as well.

I'm a certified welder thru the company I work for. But even I don't think I would feel comfortable welding on my own car. That's one I would leave for a pro to do. :%worthy%:

Strength is about two things, prep and penetration. (I could take that in sooooooo many directions. lol) LICK it then STICK it

Mig is super easy, rod is a little harder but 75% of all the people I've seen use the wrong rods when they weld. I've never really messed with Tig.

I ended up welding in myself. Well I call it welding I'm sure the professionals would disagree with me. Thanks for all responses.
On a side note I would highly suggest Sub-Frame connectors as a very nice Mod to these flimsy cars :*burnout*:

i would honestly let someone put these on my car asap! i am not even into the handling department but i know down the road i plan on a lot more power of some sort and heard a lot about sfc stiffening up the car. (it was in MM&FF) they are not too expencive and a good insurance for future strength of them. like u said "flimsy" lol
