To mod or not to mod
Hi all. I'm Jim, I'm new to you. I have a all original 89 GT Vert , 65k miles with the 25 year emblem (I know, meaningless). I bought it used a few years ago at a car lot, hiding in back. It needs some TLC but is in great shape. Its getting a new Top next week. Here's what is still wrong, drive train first...Rear main seal leak, Trans seal leak, pumpkin seal leaks, and of course the 302 valve covers leak. Guess, all the seals dried up. Otherwise it works great, just a tad dirty. Inside the leather seats are average condition, driver seat palm sized tear. Otherwise the inside is in very good condition. Body, one small scratch (my bad) and the front was very very slightly damaged by the fog light (my guess a cement parking block or something) but ya, its slightly bent and cracked. No rust, no bondo, original paint. The aluminum rims are wormed...for the lack of a better word, its some kind of surface damage that looks like worms crawled all over it.
So money is going into this car one way or another. Its at its 20 year mark, and I don't see me ever selling it since I had to wait almost 20 years to get it.
So for a couple years now I have been debating with myself Mod or no mod :>angel<: ?
Whats your thoughts?

Re: To mod or not to mod
welcome to the club Jim... I guess the mod question is up to your preference... If your looking to be able to sell the car for a decent price years down the road than keep her original but if you have the car with no intentions of selling it than do what suits you... i know i could never have one without modding it LOL

Re: To mod or not to mod
Can you believe that car is only 5 years away from "classic" status?! I'd say mod it, but don't cut anything up on it and save the original parts. Actually, there are so many OEM part suppliers out there, you wouldn't even have to worry about that. Still, being original after 20 years is a feat all in it's own.

Mustangs are made to be modded. Never leave any mustang stock. These cars wont bring the $ like the old ones are now. In our life time anyway.
Mod the hell out of it you wont regret it :*drive*:

if you want to still keep the origianlal type of look in all. then i'd say mod it useing parts from that year. it would still be "orriginal" and modded at the same time.

Re: To mod or not to mod
So can anyone recommend a good body mechanic to do some extremely minor repair work to my front air dam/ground effect thingy?
Re: To mod or not to mod
Cracked and slightly bent front bumper thingy. You can see it here by the passenger side fog light.
