Car took a crap on me

well i have had a vibration in my tranny since i bought it, so i thought maybe it was from the driveshaft U joints so i replaced both of them and put the driveshaft back in the car and now it shakes super bad, so i took it all apart again and my trans tailshaft that connects with the driveshaft has either a bad bushing or missing it, so now i dont have a stang till i can fix it

I wonder if your drive shaft is out of balance. I had an old car that had this problem after I changed the trans. When I was going 120+, it shook violently and bent under the stress then snapped in half jacking the car about a foot off the ground. The one half ripped a hole in the floor board just in front of the gas tank. Wasn't a fun experience. :*drive*: I suppose the 'stangs drive shaft may be too short to have that effect though.

yea i may need a new driveshaft as well as some tranny work ill find out today if they ever call me
and 120+ mph and a foot off the ground must have been scary lol

well im bout to go and pick her up from the shop, i somehow tore up the bushing in my tailshaft causing my driveshaft yolk to go bad too, and they recommend a new driveshaft in the future so much better than rebuilding my tranny

Why would they suggest a new drive shaft?

i have a very small ding on mine and it is causing a small vibration when i let off the gas, so i want to get that replaced before it starts to wear away at my u joints and tranny , well i perfer to get a new one rather than rebalancing mine, i think im going to get an aluminum one online somewhere

Let me get a hold of Clyde, He knows someone who owns a shop that can make an aluminum drive shaft. He said he may be able to get a good deal.
