Speediemom
for those that haven't been keeping an eye on the TN boards, Speediemom (Karen) was in the hospital this last weekend. She is now home but was diagnosed with Step 2 Diabetes. Please keep Eddie (FastEddie), Karen, and their family in your thoughts and prayers!

Well, I don't personally know her, but as she is part of the family, I hope all goes well for her and her family.

Good luck to you... I thought it was going to pass over me since I was the only male in my family to not have diabetes by age 20. Then I turned 30 gained about 100lbs and couldn't understand what was going on always feeling sick when I ate, run down, depressed and it never occurred to me until a few months ago when I went to get checked out. :^drunk^: Welcome to the club I guess, lol!
Some things that may help if you haven't already, stop eating or drinking ANYTHING with high fructose corn syrup. This doesn't have to be 100% but at least 90% until everything is under control. It's in everything btw so it's a lot harder than you may think. Stay away from artificial sweeteners because the chemicals in them affect the receptors that impact moods, anxiety, sleep and even the thing that tell your body when its full. So if you're like me I eat until the food is gone.... ...all of it... ...down to the crumb... ...everything, :*bonk(: Cutting these out will also greatly decrease any swelling and pain and your headaches will decrease if you're prone to get them. If you suffer from migraines this is going to be very hard for the first few days to a week. If you have Bursitis or any Fascia problems (which I'm wiling to put money on it that you do) they will almost all go away. I don't know your age, weight or your activity level but even if you're a brittle these things will help tremendously, I promise.
These things also help people who are pre diabetic and who have it fun in the family.
My double BA is Sports medicine/Kinesiology and Biology. My goal there is to learn everything body related although I am not an expert, I am better than the average Joe advise giver, lol. If you need any info, advice or direction not medically related Give me a shout.
Re: Speediemom
BTW pre diabetic symptoms can sometimes mirror Fibromyalgia so if anyone that's been diagnosed with this questionable "syndrome" i'd look harder at your eating habits, activity level, depression, and the possibility of pre diabetes.

Thank you so much you've given me more info in this than anyone. Yes its been scary cause I don't know what to eat. So at first I was just cutting back now I'm really into it. The hardest is NO SWEET TEA, and I'm a southern lady. My age is up there and so is the weight, but everyone has told me I'm gonna lose between 35-60lbs, so HEYYY, by tri state party, ops I mean meeting, maybe I'll be lookin good, still old but good, LOLoLOLOL, maybe I'll even get to dance, oh yeah my activity level is moderate to high , I'm a city letter carrier, with a walking 1/2 walking the other I jump out of the truck all afternoon. But hey I love it and the people. Once again THANKS to EVERYONE for their support and advise, just pray harder for Fast Eddie, I also had to quit smoking, and I'm really a Beachtieeee!!! :*blahblah*: :*blahblah*:

Re: Speediemom
BTW Its really annoying when you have a chronic illness, and other people feel the need to tell you what you should do to take care of it. I'm hypoglycemic, and while its not the same as type 2 diabeties, it unfortunetly leads down that road quite often. All I'm gonna say is yes it sucks, but luckily a lot of sugar free candy actually tastes really good so you don't have to give up chocolate!!! YES!!!
Remember there is life after this. It just tastes a little different.
