what should I do
I took my car in to have so minor bolt ons put on and I went to retrieve my car and it was a diaster to say the least. One my battery was totalled f'D up, had to get a new one. Two the mechanic decides hes done enough and wants to go eat and tells me I can put the battery on but hes leaving for the day. So anyways zak and I put the battery in start it up and its make a loud bopping banging noise and after idling for about 7 minutes it all asudden you hear plshh and start seeing a bunch of fuild all over the ground and smoke everywhere. Nonetheless the moron didnt screw the coolant cap back on the car enough. Lastly the car had no brake what so ever. The brake is compltely f'n gone!
Now he has to tear apart the valve cover and possibly the motor to fix whatever the problem is. Should I have to pay for this?

Re: what should I do
I definitely wouldn't pay for it. You took it in problem free and then before you could even get out of his driveway all kinds of new problems began to happen that shouldn't have been affected by what was done. Probably why he wanted us to trailer the car back to your place because he know he messed up. :*violent2*:

Re: what should I do
yeah you should definately not have to pay for it if u dropped it off with no problems and then they messed it up. if whatever u had bolted on has nothing to do with the problems that are now found i would say something sounds a little weird. i don't know man but good luck

That is the reason I like to do my own work. The down side is that I have to learn everything that goes on with any particular work. The up side is that I know what's been done and exactly how it was done.
Exceptions: tires, alignments, and a few other things that I do not have the machines for.

I would definitely stay away from him. I would have considered taking my car to him before, but after seeing how he works and handled Brandon's situation I would never use him.

Only descent places I really know are Auto Spec and Performance Driven. Unfortunately we don't really have any good shops in the area.

Ya it's a separate two car garage on his parents or grandparents land that has a lift in it.

New pulley, anderson power pipe, and chip pretty much = coolant exploded all over the car, no brakes, popping noise from the engine, etc
Those are the main ones I know of I'm sure Brandon could give you the full list though.

Re: what should I do
I've heard some bad things recently about Auto Specialists but I've had my car there twice have have been very satisfied with their work. My header install and dyno tune took a little longer than expected but I once had my car specifically towed there when I broke down in Indy. They got right on it and I had my car back in just a couple of days.
