Past Event: Cruise to Gilmore Car Museum 5/31/10
WHERE: Gilmore Car Museum
6865 Hickory Road
Hickory Corners, MI 49060
The Gilmore Car Museum, located midway between Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Lansing and Battle Creek, Michigan. Just twenty minutes from either I-94 or US-131.
WHEN: Memorial Day, Monday May 31, 2010. Museum hours are 9am to 5pm.
LANSING AREA MEMBERS will meet at Meijers parking lot in Charlotte at 9:30am. We will be leaving from there at 10am SHARP!
We are still working on other meeting areas for those of you coming from the West. Details on that will be posted soon.
HOW MUCH $: Admission for car clubs is $7 per person. Groups of 12 or more need to make reservations. Please R.S.V.P. if you plan on attending.
The Blue Moon Diner is open from 11am to 4pm. You can try their famous Chicago Style Hot Dogs or other tasty items from their menu.
Dreams of finding an “old car in a barn” are a daily reality here. Nestled on 90 landscaped acres in restored historic barns are over 200 extraordinary vehicles spanning more than 100 years of automotive heritage. Here you will find exhibits ranging from a 1899 Locomobile, to the classic Duesenberg or the elusive Tucker '48, and from the Model T to the muscle cars of the 60s and 70s.
For more information: http://www.gilmorecarmuseum.org/index.php
Thank you Andie and Jeff for putting this info together!
Due to construction in Eaton Rapids, there will be no parades here. So, this will be a nice change of pace on Memorial Day.

Re: Past Event: Cruise to Gilmore Car Museum 5/31/10
I need a head count as to how many people are going. Also, I need an idea of how many will be eating at the Blue Moon Diner. They have a special for $15.50 per person, PREPAID, that includes admission to the Museum AND your choice of one of the following meals: Chicken Salad Sandwich, Plain Hot Dog, Coney Dog, or Chicago Style Dog. These all come with a drink, chips, and a cookie. If everyone wants to go this route, I’ll need a headcount AND exactly what you want to order! It sounds like it would be easier for us to just order off of their menu instead of pre-ordering what we want to eat and having to pre-pay. They have Plain Hot Dogs $3.25, Coney Dogs $4.25, Chicago Style Dogs $4.25, these all come with a pickle spear and choice of 1 of these sides: potato chips, chunky cinnamon applesauce, or cole slaw. They also have the following sandwiches: Tuna Salad $5, Chicken Salad $5, Crab Salad $5, BLT $5, BBQ Pulled Pork $5, Grilled Cheese $4, Deluxe Grilled Cheese $5, Grilled Chicken $5, PB&J $3, these also come with a pickle spear and choice of 1 side. They also have soup and chili for $2.25 a cup or $3.25 a bowl. They’ve got a Cranberry Chicken Salad $6.50. Soda Pop is $1.75, Bottled Water is $1.50, Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate, Milk is $1.25. They also have pie, frozen custard, etc if you need to satisfy your "sweet tooth". You are NOT obligated to eat here if you don’t want to. I just thought I’d post the menu so you can see what they have to offer and know how much money to bring.
I have to call Brenda at the Museum by this Monday the 17th with a headcount. This way they can order enough food and have enough staff to serve us. So, I need to know ASAP who’s going and planning on eating there. You can always tag along without RSVPing, it’s just a whole lot easier to get an idea to make it a lot easier for everyone involved. Thanks so much for your quick reply! Have a fantastic weekend! ; ) andie
